To save, rescue, heal, and make whole.
Sozo is the verb behind saved in the New Testament, but it is also the word used when Jesus heals someone and when a person is rescued from danger.
The range matters. Salvation in the New Testament is not narrowed to a legal transaction; it includes rescue and restoration. When the same word covers forgiveness, healing and deliverance, the picture of being saved gets considerably larger.
