Panoplia (Armor of God)

Panoplia means the complete armor of a heavily armed soldier, not a single piece. Paul chooses it deliberately: the instruction is to put on the whole armor, because a partial set leaves a gap.

Each piece in Ephesians 6 corresponds to something already true of the believer — truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the word. Putting on the armor is less about acquiring something new and more about actively wearing what has been given.
